About the Department

  • The Department of Information Technology was established in the year 1999 with an annual intake of 40 students at Undergraduate level and the current intake is 60 students.
  • The department was accredited in 2006 for three years by NBA committee and was re-accredited for 3 more years in the year 2011, for three years in 2016 and for three years in 2019 and three years in 2022 as per OUTCOME BASED EDUCATION.
  • The department is currently functioning with 10 faculty members, who are specialized in diverse fields of Computer Science & Information Technology. The department is enriched with 4 Ph.D. holders, and 3 faculty members are currently pursuing Ph.D. in reputed IITs, NITs, and other universities.
  • The department is having a research laboratory with 7 GPUs dedicated for Students projects and Faculty research work.
  • During the last five years, the department organized 40 workshops and 16 seminars.
  • The Department has 1 Digital Class Room for implementing Flip-learning and experiencing interactive teaching and learning process.
  • Three Faculty members are recognized as Research supervisors by Andhra University and the department is recognized as a research centre (2012-2015) by JNTUK, Kakinada.
  • Faculty members have published more than 89 papers in reputed International and National Journals and Conferences.
  • To bridge the skill gap among the students, MoUs are made with 3 reputed organizations:
    • Tata Consultancy Services
    • CISCO
    • The Verticals
  • Faculty members are certified by the Industry on various technologies such as Java, Python, etc. and are members of various professional bodies such as CSI.
