ACADEMICS

  • Lecture Schedules and the list of textbooks and reference material are given to the student before the commencement of the topic.

  • Assignments to enhance the understanding of the lessons through practice and to get command over the subject

  • Guest lectures by experts to bring the field experience and the latest developments to the classrooms

  • Tutorials in the time table in two subjects in a semester with the help of tutors in the class rooms

  • Technical quizzes in the time table for one or two hours to brush up the students’ knowledge in the area.

  • Counseling by a teacher for 20 students for 4 hours in a month to discuss academic and personal problems of the students

STUDENT COMMITTEES

  • Committees to enable students create better social atmosphere

  • Committees – library, cultural, literary, sports, canteen, training and placement, examinations, transport, magazine, student affairs, discipline and student grievances

  • Committees are formed with a senior teacher as chairman and a senior student as secretary

  • Committees consisting of a chairman, four teachers and 6 to 10 students

  • They are formed at the beginning of the academic year, meet at least once in a month and whenever necessary.

  • The minutes are sent to the principal with a request for consideration

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

  • SCHOLARSHIPS

    • Social welfare scholarships for SC/ST students

    • Two merit cum means scholarships in each branch

    • Scholarship amount per annum is 5,000 to 10,000

    • The scholarships are based on performance of the previous year or semester

    • A minimum 60% of marks and 80% of attendance are a must for getting scholarship

    • On campus job under student sahakar scheme on recommendation of a teacher and HOD

    • About 25 to 30 scholarships (Rs.600 a month) under the above scheme

    • Jobs are related to gardening, coaching in sports and music, technical help in internet centre, library help, tutorial and office assistance

  • LOANS

    • For the needy and meritorious students to buy books or pay tuition fee at a nominal rate of interest

    • Loan amount varies from Rs.3,000 to 10,000 per year

    • The number of loans is 10 – 15

    • A teacher of the institute or a person of repute should stand as a surety

     

CLUBS AND ASSOCIATIONS

  • PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATIONS

    • Associations of different departments meet monthly once and organize programmes as per schedule in the academic calendar

    • ISTE student chapter – all students are eligible with an annual fee of Rs. 140 for I year and Rs.110 for II year student

    • IEEE student chapter – a student becomes a member by paying a fee of Rs. 3,000

    • IETE student chapter – the annual membership fee is Rs.300

    • CSI student chapter

    • Membership of the above chapters is for four years

    • Members can attend the meetings, participate in proceedings and present papers

    • Members can interact with the experts of the concerned department

    • Membership enhances the chances of entering foreign universities and jobs

  • CLUBS FOR EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

    • There are four clubs on the campus – Swara Gayatri, Kala Gayatri, Seva Gayatri and Tennis club.

    • These clubs enhance the skills of the members and also provide recreation.

    • Swara Gayatri, Kala Gayatri–cultural clubs organize exhibitions, inter collegiate and intra collegiate activities, performances by the reputed artistes with the help of the management.

    • An A.C Auditorium with lighting and sound system to accommodate 450 members of audience.

    • An open air theatre with a covered stage of 200 sq.mts and two green rooms which can accommodate 2000 people.
